Scientific name: Ceiba speciosa

Habitat: It is resistant to drought and moderate cold. It grows fast in spurts when water is abundant.

Nativity: It is originally from the north-east of ArgentinaParaguay, and southern Brazil

Special notes: The cotton inside the fruit pods, although not of as good quality as that of the other trees, has been used as stuffing for pillows and thermic insulation at times. This tree is cultivated mostly for ornamental purposes.
